contractual committees

Contractual Committees include representatives of both the union and the employer.

All members of contractual committees, except for those exceptions noted here after, are elected by secret ballot at the Representative Assembly or General Meeting, and elected by 50% plus 1 of the valid ballots cast.

Once elected, BTA representatives on Contractual Committees uphold the policies of the Burnaby Teachers' Associations and refer any questions or concerns to the Executive Council for direction and/or feedback.

These include:

• Deferred Salary Leave Plan
• Dental Plan
• Detached Duty
• Employee Assistance Plan
• Evaluation
• Joint Health and Safety
• Joint Professional Development
• Leave of Absence
• Options in Education (activated when necessary)
