Grievance

Teachers, as members of the union, have rights and responsibilities enshrined in the Collective Agreement language, as well as in other legal documents such as the Labour Code, the Human Rights Code, the School Act, etc.

When teacher's rights are violated or appear to be violated, teachers should contact the union to determine what can be done, and whether legal rights have been disregarded. If so, a grievance may be filed. Learn more about how Grievances work by viewing our Collective Agreement.

Health & Safety

Health and Safety rights for workers are an extremely important achievement of the labour movement. The School District is required to have a health and safety committee on each work site. There is also a Joint District Health and Safety Committee. ...more
